HONEY BEE

honey bee  is belonging to the member of the insects family. it is also called pollinators .pollination is a process by which pollen is taken from male flower to female flower . honey bee producing honey from flower and store in their nest which is build by wax produced from honey. honey bee looks like oval shape wit yellow and brown color. there are three types of honey bee i.e worker honey bee( female bee), drone honey bee(male bee), queen honey bee. each bees have their own responsibility in their hive. each hive consist of one queen bee, hundreds of drone bees and 30,000 to 80,000  female bees. honey bee usually devotee their life for their future generation.

                      worker  bee is usually a female bee. however, it has not a capacity of reproducing. worker bee usually serves for queen bee. it spent their entire life for doing chore in their colony like housekeeping, building hive and feeding to queen bee.

                      drone are male honey bee. the duty of drone is producing sperm and mating with queen. it is usually larger than honey bee. it has not sting to collect honey.

                   queen bee plays a crucial role in their life because it is a only bee producing egg and developing their next generation.

FACTS ABOUT HONEY BEE

After mating with male bee, queen bee can lay eggs in next 48 hours, it can lay 2000 to 2500 eggs in one day.

A worker bee may visit 2000 flowers per day to produce honey. thus, single honey bee can collect one teaspoon in a day.

Honey bee can communicate with other bees with dance movement.

Karl Ritter Von Frisch is a German ethologist who won the Nobel prize in physiology or medicine in 1973 for  finding bees communication strategy.

Queen honey bee consume only royal jelly throughout their life. thus, it can live up to 5 years. although, worker bee live only 6 weeks.

Male bees die after mating with queen bee.

Honey bee build their honeycomb cells in hexagonal shape because it can hold large number of honey and eggs.
